Trip Introduction

Kathmandu valley one day hiking tour in Nepal starts from Kathmandu city. This is one day hiking tour around Kathmandu valley cover beautiful high viewpoints of Kathmandu city including shivapuri national park. This is one of special day tour in Kathmandu which combines cultural tour of Buddhist monasteries, stupa and temple of lord Vishnu which is known as budhanilkantha temple or Narayanthan temple too located at Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu. The buddhist monasteries in this tour covers Kapan Gumna Fulari Gumba and Nagi gumba, Gumba is nepali words of Buddhist monastery. All 3 monastery is very precious monastery and Nagi gumba is located at altitude of approximately 1650m in north of Kathmandu valley in Shivapuri national park at Tarebhir.

Kathmandu valley day hiking route starts from Kapan monastery, Fulari monastery, we start tour 7.30 am from Kathmandu city, we drive to Kapan monastery, it takes about 40-minute drive to Kapan from thamel or city. we first visit Kapan monastery and then we walk to Fulari Monastery in Kapan, two monastery, we start hiking through Jagdol area, the hiking is easy with little up and down through pine trees, once we reach at resort area, just below to Tarebhir, we can see 360 degree view of Kathmandu valley from east/North to south/west, we stop for lunch break for photos and continue walk to Nagi gumba( monastery of Nun, known as Ani Gumba too) entering shivapuri national park. we visit this nun monastery and we walk down to Budhanilkantha temple or Narayanthan temple (sleeping statue of Lord Vishnu). the total hiking area is about 22km from Kapan to Tarebhir, Nagi gumba to Budhanilkantha temple. we visit Nayaranthan temple at budanilkantha. This is total of approximately 7-8 hours of tour and day hiking in Shivapuri national park, perfect day hiking in Kathmandu valley. after tour of Narayanthan temple, we drive to hotel and one day hiking tour is completed.
